'Cuse Finishes Pre-Conference Schedule at Cornell, Notre Dame

ITHACA, N.Y. & SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Syracuse track and field team finished its pre-conference schedule on Saturday with the majority of the team competing in the Cornell Marc Deneault Invitational and the women's distance medley relay unit heading to the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational.
Syracuse travels to Clemson, S.C. for the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship next weekend, starting on Friday, Feb. 28.

Three Orange won their events including Donald Pollitt in the 60-meter hurdles (7.76 seconds), Jaquan Holland in the 200-meter dash (21.68 seconds) and Michelle Riley in the 800-meter run. (2:14.78).

Eight runners set personal records at Cornell. In the 800-meter run, David Stankiewicz finished in 13th place with a time of 2:01.18 while Nick Ryan finished the 3,000-meter run in 8:30.21, good for second place.

In the women's 60-meter dash, four of the five Orange participants set new personal best marks including Shaina Harrison who ran to a second-place finish in 7.37 seconds, just five hundredths of a second shy of a school record. Sabrina Cammock finished in third with a time of 7.55 (PR), Sierra Vaden finished in fifth in 7.80 (PR) and Regine Hunter too sixth in 7.81 (PR). Vaden also competed in the 300-meter dash, finishing in third in a personal best 40.96 seconds.

Bridget Twomey had a PR in the mile, finishing in eighth with a time of 5:17.36 and Fiona Hendry and Rebecca Skodis both set new personal records in the 3,000-meter run, finishing with times of 10:11.15 and 10:17.17, respectively.

In the men's 3,000-meter run, Philo Germano finished in third place and Shawn Wilson took fourth with times of 8:30.24 and 8:30.27.

At Notre Dame, the women's distance medley relay, made up of Sydney Leiher, Rebecca Robinson, Molly Malone and Margo Malone, finished in third place with a time of 11:14.06.
