MERCYHURST SNEAKS PAST 'CUSE

On Friday, a two-goal second period put Mercyhurst ahead in a tied game, a deficit the Orange couldn't overcome and SU lost 3-2. On Saturday, Mercyhurst jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period and Syracuse could only manage one of its own for the rest of the game, losing for the third time to the Lakers this season, 2-1.
• Melissa Piacentini extended her program-record goal streak to seven games on Friday but it came to an end Saturday, though she was able to notch an assist to keep her point streak alive, which is now tied for the program's longest.
• Jenesica Drinkwater had 35 saves in both contests, a season-high for the senior net minder.
