
Five Named Academic All-ACC

Five indoor track and field student-athletes earned Academic All-ACC honors, the conference announced Friday morning. The women’s team had four representatives while the men’s team had just one on the list.
GREENSBORO, N.C.—Five indoor track and field student-athletes earned Academic All-ACC honors, the conference announced Friday morning. The women's team had four representatives while the men's team had just one on the list.
Graduate student Robert Molke, who is double majoring in marketing management and public relations, was the lone Orange from the men's squad to earn Academic All-ACC honors. He was one of five Orange cross country student-athletes named to the conference's All-Academic list and was named to the cross country All-ACC team for his performance in the conference championship race last fall.
Distance runners Sarah Pagano, Margo Malone and Sydney Leiher and sprinter Shaina Harrison made up the Syracuse women to earn Academic All-ACC honors for the indoor season. Pagano, a graduate student studying biochemistry, was one of three Orange named an ACC Postgraduate Scholar. Malone, a sophomore biology major, and Leiher, a freshman sport management major, have been named to an Academic All-ACC team twice in their careers after achieving the honor during the cross country season. Malone was also named to the cross country All-ACC team for her performance at the conference championship. Harrison, a sophomore psychology major, earns her first ACC accolade with this distinction.
Fifty-three women and 41 men were named to the conference list. To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career.
