Orange Student-Athletes Set to Graduate

Seventy-two Syracuse student-athletes are among those that will graduate on Sunday.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University's 160th commencement will include 72 student-athletes among the over 5,000 graduates. The group, which covers degrees from across SU's different colleges, experienced success on the fields and courts as well as in the classroom.
Twenty-nine Orange student-athletes earned All-ACC Academic Team honors in their respective sports, in addition to 12 individuals that were named CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District, with more to possibly be named later this spring.
Field hockey's Adrian Chambers and Laura Hahnefeldt and cross country/track & field's Sarah Pagano were named among 44 recipients of ACC Postgraduate Scholarships, Commissioner John Swofford announced in February.
Last week, cross country/track & field's David Wilson was named one of just 12 Syracuse University Scholars, the highest distinction granted to an undergraduate by the University.
Numerous more have earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List recognition.
Commencement takes place Sunday at the Carrier Dome, beginning with the procession of degree candidates at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be webcast live at sugrad.syr.edu. WSYR-TV digital 9.2 (Time Warner 890; Verizon FiOS 470; NewVisions 23) will also broadcast the majority of the ceremony.
