The Orange will host an Evening at Ten Eyck, Wisconsin, the Goes Trophy and the Packard Cup in 2014-15
Four home dates highlight the 2014-15 men's rowing schedule, head coach Dave Reischman announced.
Full 2014-15 schedule
The Orange will kick off its fall season by hosting the second annual Evening at Ten Eyck on Sept. 20 and will host Wisconsin, Navy, Cornell and Dartmouth in three separate events over the span of five weeks during the spring.
Cuse will follow the Evening at Ten Eyck with a trio of familiar events – the Head of the Genesee (Oct. 4), the Head of the Charles (Oct. 19) and Princeton Chase (Oct. 26).
The Orange traveled to all three races in 2013, taking 24th at the Head of the Charles, the largest two-day regatta in the world and racing to a ninth-place finish in the varsity eight and seventh in the varsity four at the Princeton Chase.
Syracuse will close its fall schedule at the Cornell Head Race in Ithaca on Nov. 1.
A pair of home events will open the spring season, when the Orange host Wisconsin on April 11 and the Goes Trophy with Navy and Cornell April 18. The Orange, Big Red and Midshipmen have been competing for
the trophy since 1956. The Orange is looking to regain the trophy for the first time since 2011 this season.
Cuse will then hit the road for the Conlan Cup in Boston, Mass. April 25, that will pit the team against Boston and Columbia, an event the varsity eight took third in with all other boats placing second last season when the Orange hosted. The Orange have won 15 if 28 Conlan Cups against the Terriers.
Syracuse will hold its final home event of the season on May 9 in the form of the Packard Cup against Dartmouth.
The Eastern Sprints are slated for May 18 in Worcester, Mass and the 2014 IRA Regatta – an event the Syracuse took 16th in last season – will take place May 29-31 in Mercer Lake, N.J.
