
Scholar-Athletes Of The Week Announced

Reed Kamyszek and Jordan Page are this week’s Scholar Athletes of the Week
This week, Reed Kamyszek of men's cross country and Jordan Page of field hockey have earned Scholar-Athlete of the week honors for achieving excellence on the field and in the classroom. Kamyszek and his harriers will begin their 2014 slate this weekend while Page and her squad look to continue their success on the road today against Kent State.
Page assisted field hockey to a 3-0 start to the 2014 season with victories over Ohio State, Miami (Ohio) and Ohio over the course of the last four days. Today their road trip concludes with a 1:00 PM matchup at Kent State. After the four game stretch on the road field hockey will compete from the comforts of their own home against Albany on Saturday and Ball State on Sunday.
Saturday marks the team's first home game against undefeated Albany at 2:00 PM in J.S. Coyne Stadium. Ball State is scheduled to play Syracuse on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Albany has enjoyed wins over Hoftsra, Bryant and Ohio State while Ball State has defeated Davidson and Appalachian State.
The men's cross country team heads to Hamilton, N.Y. for the Harry Lang Invitational hosted by Cornell on September 6. Kamyszek enters his final season with the Orange with hopes of returning to the NCAA Championship. It was announced in late August that 'Cuse was ranked as the best Northeast team in the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll.
