SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 10 Syracuse field hockey team will hit the road for No. 3 Virginia on Friday night, before hosting in-state foe Hofstra on Sunday afternoon at J.S. Coyne Stadium.

Friday's contest will mark the third-straight game against a nationally ranked opponent. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va.

The squad will return home on Sunday for its match against Hofstra. The game, which will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, will begin at 3 p.m.

"They (Virginia) are really tough and one of the top teams in the country and conference right now. It's going to be a good opportunity for us to keep testing how much we have grown.

Senior back Jordan Page is one of two seniors on the 2014 Syracuse field hockey team. Page is certainly cementing her legacy with a great start to her senior campaign. Through eight games, Page leads the team in scoring with 15 points on five goals and five assists.

Following her two-assist effort against No. 11 Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 20, Page moved into sixth place in program history with 29 career assists. The Denver, Pa. native also is 12 points shy of 14th on the SU career points list.

Immediate Impact
The 2014 Syracuse field hockey team has 10 freshmen on its roster. This group of freshmen has adjusted quickly to collegiate field hockey, excelling in their first games.
The freshmen class has accounted for 35 percent of the team's scoring, recording 29 points on eight goals and 13 assists. Five freshmen have played in every contest so far this season and back Annalena Ulbrich has started every game for the Orange in 2014.

Syracuse owns a 1-2 record against ACC-foe Virginia and is 13-2 all-time versus Hofstra. SU broke a two-game losing streak against UVA last season with a 4-1 win at home. The team has defeated in-state foe Hofstra in their last three meetings.

Last season, Syracuse rode a Leonie Geyer hat trick to a 4-1 victory against No. 4 Virginia. It marked the program's first conference win as a member of the ACC. In its second game of the year in 2013, SU defeated Hofstra, 4-1, for the 2013 Asics Invitational title. Alyssa Manley recorded two goals to lead the Orange on the day.
