Syracuse, N.Y. – Women's hockey student-athlete Nicole Renault and men's track and field student-athlete Colin Bennie have been named this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Bennie, a sophomore Arts and Sciences major, will look to begin the track and field season this weekend at the Gotham Cup in New York City. He played a crucial role in helping lead the Orange to its second-straight ACC Championship and historic fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, which was its best finish in nearly 60 years.
Renault, a junior management major, is an assistant caption for the hockey team this season, which currently sits in second place in the CHA. She has 10 points on the season in the form of four goals and six assists.
Both will lead their teams in action this weekend as the Gotham Cup meet is slated for Friday, while the hockey team squares off with Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa. on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.
