Orange Ranked #3 in Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is ranked No. 3 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women's Preseason Top 20. Syracuse returns several key players from last year's team that advanced to the national championship game for the second time in school history.

Defending national champion Maryland is ranked No. 1 followed by North Carolina. Florida is ranked fourth followed by Northwestern at No. 5. Virginia, Boston College. Duke, Loyola (Maryland) and Notre Dame round out the top 10.

Syracuse posted a 21-3 record in 2014, setting the single-season school record for wins. The Orange won 11 consecutive games and claimed a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular-season title. Syracuse advanced to national semifinals for the third consecutive year for the first time in school history and played in the national final where it came up short in a 15-12 loss against No.1 Maryland.
