Track Kicks Off 2015 By Competing at Gotham Cup

Donald Pollitt's second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles highlighted a strong opening meet to the season for the Syracuse track and field teams at the Gotham Classic.
Pollitt, who fell just three hundredths of a second behind the Dominican Republic's Ramon Sosa, finished the event in 7.79 seconds, the Orange's highest place finish in the event, which featured collegiate teams, track clubs and members of national teams.
The Orange also placed two women in the top-six of the 60-meter hurdles, with Tia Thevenin placing fifth (8.69) and Danielle Delgado one spot behind (8.71).
Rebecca Robinson was another top-five finisher for the Orange, taking fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 55.64.
'Cuse also got a strong performance from Bria Goodson, who finished 17th in the 60-meter dash after finishing the event in 7.82.
Reggie Morton took 25th on the men's side of the event after racing to a time of 7.09.
The Orange will return to action next Saturday (Jan. 24) at the Greg Page Relays, hosted by Cornell.
