Orange Returns to ACC Play Friday at Duke

DURHAM, N.C. -- The rv/-- Syracuse men's soccer team goes for its fourth consecutive victory when it travels to Durham, N.C. to face Duke on Friday, Oct. 2. Opening kick is set for 7 p.m. The Orange enters Friday's match with a 6-2-1 record, including a 1-1-1 mark in ACC play.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (6-2-1, 1-1-1)
Syracuse extended its winning streak to three with a 2-0 victory at Colgate on Tuesday. Juniors Chris Nanco and Ben Polk scored for the Orange. Syracuse has moved up to No. 25 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll and received 33 votes in this week's NSCAA poll. In addition, the Orange is No. 13 in the first RPI rankings released earlier this week.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS (4-3-2, 0-2-1)
Duke is coming off a 2-2 tie at Davidson on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are 4-3-2 overall, but 0-3-2 in its last five matches, four of which were against teams ranked in the top 25. Duke is 0-2-1 in ACC play. Jeremy Ebobisse is tied for third in the ACC in points (12) and goals (5). He is one of nine Blue Devils to score at least one goal this season. Goalkeeper Wilson Fisher has a 1.57 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage this season.

THE SERIES
Friday's match will be the fourth all-time meeting between Syracuse and Duke. The Orange has won two of the three previous meetings. The squads last met in the quarterfinals of the 2014 ACC Tournament. The Orange scored twice in the first half and leaned on its defense to record a 2-0 victory against the Blue Devils. The match was played in front of an SU Soccer Stadium record-crowd of 2,533.
