SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Â The Syracuse women's soccer team will honor seniors Jackie Firenze, Alexis Koval, Erin Simon, Maya Pitts as well as junior Blake Johnson on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. when the Orange take on No. 6/7 Clemson at the SU Soccer Stadium on Senior Day.
On Senior Day, the Orange women's soccer club will honor its five departing players while also inviting fans to dress up in costume for Halloween. Fans who wear a costume to the game will receive candy as a part of the "Kick of Treat" promotion.
The five players for Syracuse have combined to play in 285 games over the last four years, starting in 219 of them. These Orange have accumulated 35 goals, 29 assists, 12 game-winning goals and 96 points. Syracuse is going into Saturday's game with a three-game win streak, all coming at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange will have a tough task going up against one of the nation's top teams in Clemson.
"Clemson is a very, very good team and we have the upmost respect for them," head coach Phil Wheddon said. "They are a well-coached team and they play physical. We have to compete again for 90 minutes and make sure that when we do get our chances, we bury them."
