Orange Hosts Big Green in NCAA Second Round

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will make its 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament debut on Sunday, Nov. 22 when it hosts Dartmouth at 2 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium in a second-round match. The Orange is a program-best sixth seed in the tournament and earned a first-round bye.

Tickets for Sunday's match are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 18 and under. The first 200 Syracuse University students will be admitted free of charge with a valid ID. Gates open at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines. The match will be streamed free of charge on Cuse.com.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (13-5-3)
Syracuse earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by claiming the ACC Championship last weekend at Notre Dame. The Orange is a season-best No. 3 in the latest RPI, which was released on Monday. Syracuse allowed just one goal in four matches in the conference tournament and posted shutouts in the semifinals against No. 2 Clemson and in the final against No. 9 Notre Dame.

The Orange is making its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third in the last four years. Junior Ben Polk was the MVP of the ACC Tournament after recording all of Syracuse's goals in the semifinals and final. He and sophomore Julian Buescher are tied for the team in points with 24. The pair is the seventh-highest scoring duo in the nation.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN (12-5-1)
Dartmouth scored in the 99th minute to defeat Hartwick, 1-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Ivy League champion improved its record to 12-5-1. Eduvie Ikoba and Amadu Kunateh lead the Dartmouth offense. Both have recorded four goals this season. Goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland has started 13 matches in goal for the Big Green. He has posted nine shutouts and a 0.52 goals-against average, which ranks sixth in the nation.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Dartmouth will face each other for the seventh time on Sunday. The teams have split the previous six meetings. Sunday's match will be the first between the two schools since 1935. The teams met in 1928 and 1929 and then every year from 1932-35.

The winner of Sunday's match will advance to the third round where it will take on either No. 11 seed Seattle or UCLA.
