
Hoyos and Dombrowski Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Men's track and field's Kevyn Hoyos and softball's Mary Dombrowski are the Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Hoyos, who heads into this weekend's ACC Indoor Championships coming off a first-place finish in the mile at last weekend's Marc Denault Invitational, is a junior economics major. Hoyos won the mile race at Cornell on Saturday with a time of 4:15.22. Previously this season, he took 10th in the 3000-meters at the Penn State National with a time of 8:17.67.
Dombrowski, a communication and rhetorical studies major, hit a home run in the Orange's 2-1 walk-off win against Northwestern on Friday. The solo shot was the second rbi on the season for the senior.
The track and field teams begin ACC Championships action on Friday at Virginia Tech. 'Cuse softball opens ACC play on Saturday for a double header with NC State at 1 p.m.
