Firman and Wambold Earn Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

Scott Firman of men's lacrosse and Julie Wambold from the softball team earn the weekly honor
Scott Firman of the men's lacrosse team and Julie Wambold of the softball team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Firman, a long stick midfielder for the Orange is majoring in management. The Fayetteville, N.Y. native caused a turnover and collected a pair of ground balls in 'Cuse's dominant 19-7 win over No. 4 Duke on Sunday. He has four caused turnovers and 11 ground balls on the season.
Wambold, a catcher for Syracuse is a senior child and family studies major, currently ranks second on the Orange with 15 rbi on the year. The Hatboro, Pa. native is batting .277 on the season and has scored a run in each of the last-two games for the Orange.
Firman will lead the unanimous No. 1-ranked Orange to its first road game at No. 2 Notre Dame at Noon on Saturday.
Wambold and the Syracuse softball team open its home slate on Tuesday when the Orange hosts Canisius for a double header beginning at 3 p.m. Syracuse will also host its first ACC series at home this season when the Orange takes on Louisville Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and Noon respectively.
