The Orange will take on A-10 powerhouse, Fordham on Tuesday afternoon
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On Wednesday, April 1, Syracuse (12-17) will head to the Bronx for a 3:00 p.m., matchup against Fordham (15-13). The Orange is coming off its best weekend at the plate this season in which it posted 22 runs on 20 hits, nine of which went for extra bases.

Scouting The Rams
With a .295 and a 3.92 ERA, Fordham presents a formidable foe to the Orange. As one of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Rams have boasted a winning record while challenging itself with seven teams thus far that have either been ranked in the Nation's Top 25 or have received votes. Its biggest win this season came just a month ago against #13/#11 Minnesota in a 10-5 contest. Â Â
After a falling in five-straight contests, Fordham is on the rebound as it has won its last three games, with two of which coming in a doubleheader with La Salle. The majority of the Ram's success has been due to their efficiency on offense. Amy Van Hoven leads the charge with 35 hits and 22 runs scored. Lindsay Mayer brings power to their lineup with four home runs and 24 RBIs on the season.
The two New York schools have met a total of five times since Syracuse's program began in 2000. The Rams have won the last two meetings and own the series lead, 3-2.

- Maddi Doane had her way at the plate this weekend, hitting .400, slugging .800 and fighting for a .500 on-base percentage. In the three-game span she recorded four hits, two walks, two doubles, a triple, four runs scored and six runs batted in. The performance as a whole raised her batting average to .274 on the season.
- Despite a two-week hiatus from game-speed competition, Sydney O'Hara carried her success from Florida into the series in Louisville, hitting .300 with a .364 on-base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage. All together she logged three hits, a walk, a home run, three runs and three runs batted in. The effort keeps O'Hara atop the team standings with a .296 batting average.
- Corinne Ozanne continues to pack a punch in the middle of the lineup. She launched her ninth home run of the season this weekend and drove in four runs in the three-game series with Louisville.
- Rachel Burkhardt recorded her first home run of her collegiate career over the weekend. The homer was a key, three-run bomb that gave Syracuse a 5-4 lead in the fourth inning.
