
Tufts Set to Join Syracuse Field Hockey

Named to the 2014 NEPSAC Class B All-Tournament Team
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Over the coming weeks Syracuse University head field hockey coach Ange Bradley is announcing the program's 2015 signing class. Be sure the check Cuse.com as the Orange unveils its incoming class one-by-one.

In today's edition, Bradley is happy to announce the addition of Emma Tufts, a forward from Manchester, N.H.

"We welcome Emma to Syracuse and are excited that she has accepted the offer to join the Orange nation," added Bradley. "She comes to us from Cushing Academy in New Hampshire where men's basketball player Kaleb Joseph also attended."

Tufts joins the Syracuse field hockey program from Cushing Academy, where she was a four-year letterwinner under Cara Clarke. She compiled 34 goals and 71 assists during her scholastic career. In her final three seasons at Cushing Academy, the team recorded a 39-21-2 record and advanced to the NEPSAC Class B semifinals three straight years.

In her final season, Tufts recorded 12 goals and 24 assists, helping the Penguins to the 2014 NEPSAC Class B semifinals. For her performance in the NEPSAC Class B Tournament, she was named to the all-tournament team. In addition, she also earned the Outstanding Sportsmanship and Tiffany Blood Awards following her senior campaign.

"Emma also was an ice hockey player and brings many of those skills to the hockey field," commented Bradley. "She has quick hands, passes well, pressurse the ball defensively in transition, and is outstanding around the goal mouth. Emma also is a very fast, feisty, and aggressive forward."

The daughter of Kimberly and Shane, Tufts also participated in ice hockey, lacrosse, and track and field at Cushing Academy.
