
Knight Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

More honors for the star freshman
'Cuse freshman Justyn Knight is the ECAC Rookie of the Week after collecting ACC Performer of the Week honors previously this week.
The standout freshman is the two-time ACC Rookie of the Week and shattered the school and Canadian junior 5k records during a second-place finish at the Payton Jordan Invitational last Saturday.
The Male Rookie of the Year at the ninth-annual 'Cuse Awards, Knight cruised to a record time of 13:34.86, just ahead of teammate Martin Hehir.
Knight's time is the sixth-fastest nationally this season and is the second-best qualifying time for the NCAA East Regional. He also owns the seventh-fastest time in the 1500-meters, an event which he holds the third-best qualifying time for the NCAA East Regional.
The Vaughan, Ontario native won the Pan-Am Games Junior Cross Country Championship this year and will next compete at the ACC Championships on May 14.
