Freddie Crittenden and Donald Pollitt will represent the Orange in Eugene, Oregon
Kicking things off for Syracuse at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be Donald Pollitt and Freddie Crittenden in the men's 110-meter hurdles.
Check out what they had to say in preparation for the meet on CuseTV: 110-Meter Hurdles Preview
The duo will take to the track on Wednesday at 8:02 p.m. for the semifinals, which will consist of three heats. The top-two runners from each heat and the next two fastest times of the remaining runners will be used to cut the field down from 24 to 8 heading into Friday's final.
Pollitt and Crittenden both qualified automatically last Saturday, with Pollitt winning his heat, and Crittenden placing second in his.
Pollitt enters as the 11 seed in the event, with Crittenden seeded 23rd, but the field is packed tight as the No. 2 seed and No. 24 seed are separated by just .26 seconds from their preliminary times. Arkansas' Omar McLeod enters as the favorite, with a preliminary time of 13.22 seconds.
Both runners have experience at the event, with Crittenden taking 10th last season as a rookie and Pollitt earning USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors in 2013 during his trip to Eugene, Oregon as a sophomore.
Wednesday's race will be broadcast on ESPNU, with the finals of the event for the top-eight qualifiers taking place on Friday at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.
