SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The rv/-- Syracuse men's soccer team begins defense of its ACC Atlantic Division title on Friday, Sept. 11 when it hosts No. 23/15 Louisville. Start time at the SU Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m. Admission is free of charge.

Syracuse will celebrate Military and First Responders Day on Friday. Fans will be able to see and take photos with local fire engines, a HUMVEE and a reaper drone.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (3-1-0, 0-0 ACC)
Syracuse won its second consecutive Central New York Classic last weekend. The Orange defeated UC-Riverside and Rutgers to claim the title. Senior Korab Syla (Yonkers, N.Y.) earned the Offensive MVP award, while freshman Miles Robinson (Arlington, Mass.) was named the tournament's Defensive MVP. Syla and Robinson were joined on the All-Tournament Team by senior Juuso Pasanen (Kuopio, Finland) and sophomore Julian Buescher (Duelman, Germany).

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (3-1-0, 0-0 ACC)
Louisville defeated No. 15 Kentucky, 2-0, on Tuesday to improve its record to 3-1. The Cardinals' only loss of the season was a 1-0 setback against No. 8 Stanford. Tate Schmitt leads the Louisville offense with eight points on three goals and two assists, all of which are tops on the squad. Four other players have recorded a goal apiece. Nick Jeffs has played every minute in goal for the Cardinals. He has recorded four saves and has a 0.75 goals-against average and a .571 save percentage. Louisville's defense has allowed just 18 shots in four games.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's match will be the 11th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Louisville. The Cardinals won both matches between the two schools last season, which included a 2-1 victory in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.
