Orange Visits No. 7 Wake Forest Saturday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The rv/-- Syracuse men's soccer team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on No. 7/12 Wake Forest for its first road game since starting conference play. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (3-1-1, 0-0-1 ACC)
Syracuse is coming off of a physical match with No. 23 Louisville last Friday. The Orange tied the Cardinals at the SU Soccer Stadium, 1-1. Syracuse has had more than a week of practice and recovery to prepare for Saturday's match. This will be the Orange's second game against a Top 25 team but the first against a Top 10 opponent. Junior Oyvind Alseth (Trondheim, Norway) became the team's leading scorer in last Saturday's match when he scored the only goal for the Orange against the Cardinals. He has three goals in five matches this season, tying his career high from last season.

SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS (5-1-0, 1-0-0 ACC)
Wake Forest had its five-game winning streak to start the season snapped in a 1-0 loss to No. 20 Elon on Tuesday. Demon Deacons' Michael Gamble ranks second in the ACC and is tied for 18th in the nation in goals with four. Andrew Harris and Alec Ferrell have split time in goal this season. Harris has a .033 goals-against average and a .677 save percentage, while Ferrell boasts a 0.67 GAA and a .600 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the fourth all-time meeting between the Orange and the Demon Deacons. Wake Forest leads the series, 2-1. The Orange garnered the most recent win of the series last season in a 3-1 victory at SU Soccer Stadium in mid-October.
