SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The rv Syracuse men's soccer team renews its series against Rutgers on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in the final match of the Central New York Classic. Admission to the SU Soccer Stadium is free of charge.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (2-1)
Four different players scored for Syracuse in its 4-1 victory against UC-Riverside on Friday at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange led 1-0 at halftime and exploded for three second-half goals in the win. Senior Korab Syla (Yonkers, N.Y.) had a goal and an assist, while junior Ben Polk (Herkimer, N.Y.) added two goals in his first appearance for the Orange.

SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS (2-0)
Rutgers defeated Colgate, 2-1, in the opening round of the Central New York Classic on Friday in Hamilton, N.Y. to improve to 2-0 this season. Miles Hackett tied the game in the first half before JP Correa netted the game-winning goal 24 seconds into the second half. Hackett and Jason Wright are tied for the team lead in scoring with five points apiece (2g, 1a). David Greczek is Rutgers' starting goalkeeper. He has a 1.50 goals-against average and a .625 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Sunday's game will be the 20th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights hold a 10-8-1 advantage in the series. Syracuse defeated Rutgers, 2-1 in overtime, at the SU Soccer Stadium in the last meeting between the two schools on Oct. 3, 2012. The teams met every year from 1995-2012 when both were members of the BIG EAST Conference.

The Orange opens ACC play on Friday, Sept. 11 when it hosts Louisville at the SU Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
