Gilstrap And Ferrara Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- David Gilstrap of the men's track and field team and Nicole Ferrara of the women's ice hockey team are this week's Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Gilstrap majors in health and exercise science in the School of Education. The sophomore most recently participated at the Greg Page Relays at Cornell University, utilizing the third-fastest qualifier in the 60-minute hurdles, which led him to an eighth-place finish.
Ferrara is a dual major in economics and psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The redshirt senior captain leads the Orange ice hockey team and ranks fourth in College Hockey America with nine goals this season. To go with her nine goals, Ferrara has nine assists, accumulating 18 total points, which ranks seventh in the conference and fourth on Syracuse.
Gilstrap and the men's track and field team are back in action on Friday, Jan. 15 at the Ramapo Opener.
Ferrara and the women's ice hockey team travel to play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 12 against Union at 7 p.m.
