SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Looking to continue its recent momentum, the Syracuse women's soccer team (8-5-3, 1-4-2) will travel to Wake Forest (9-6-0, 1-6-0) in search of another Atlantic Coast Conference win. The match is set for Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

The Orange picked up its first ACC win last Sunday against Pittsburgh at SU Soccer Stadium, earning three crucial points in league standings. Freshman Taylor Bennett scored the game-winner in the 26th minute on a free kick from about 25 yards out.

Junior Alana O'Neill leads Syracuse in scoring this season with four goals. Eva Gordon and Stephanie Skilton have each contributed three goals. Nine total members of the Orange have scored in 2016.

Wake Forest snapped a six-game losing streak with its first ACC win against Boston College on Oct. 15. The Demon Deacons hold a 7-2 record at Spry Stadium this season, including a 1-2 record at home in the ACC. Wake Forest is led in scoring by Maddie Huster and Peyton Perea with five goals each.

Thursday will be the fifth meeting between Syracuse and Wake Forest. The Deacons hold a 2-1-1 advantage all-time in the series. The two teams met last season on Oct. 25 in Syracuse. Sheridan Street scored the lone goal to give the Orange a 1-0 victory.

Syracuse will return home for Senior Day on Sunday, Oct. 23 to take on No. 18 North Carolina. Start time is slated for 1 p.m. for that match.
