SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's hockey team will host Lindenwood on Friday and Saturday to open College Hockey America play in 2016-17. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Â
The Orange are coming off a weekend series with No. 5 Colgate featuring a win and tie against the Raiders. Stephanie Grossi, Kelli Rowswell and Heather Schwarz were goal scorers for Syracuse against Colgate. Goalie Abbey Miller registered a combined 49 saves in the two games, earning her CHA Goaltender of the Week honors.
Â
Lindenwood has played only four games this season with series against Minnesota and Northeastern. In those contests, the Lady Lions have been outscored 18-3. Taylor Girard, Kirsten Martin and Corbin Welsh have each scored for Lindenwood this season. Jolene DeBruyn and Morgan Skinner have split time in goal this season, playing two games each.
Â
Syracuse is 6-2 all-time in conference openers in program history. Friday's game will be the 21st meeting between the two teams. The clubs met four times last season with the Orange winning three of those matchups and tying the other.
Â
Both games will be streamed. Friday's game will be on Cuse TV and Saturday's game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
