SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following Thursday night's thriller, the Syracuse women's soccer team (7-5-2, 0-4-1) will match up with the No. 2 Florida State Seminoles (9-2-1, 3-1-1) on Sunday, Oct. 9 at SU Soccer Stadium. First kick is set for 1 p.m.
The Orange will look to bounce back after the team's 2-1 loss against Virginia Tech on Thursday. The game was tied heading into the final minutes, when Syracuse knocked in an own goal.

Florida State is coming off of a 2-1 loss on the road against Boston College. The team's three conference wins have come against Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and Miami. The Seminoles are led in scoring by Kristen McFarland and Deyna Castellanos who have both contributed five goals. The Seminoles have been ranked in the top-five of the NSCAA poll for 51 consecutive weeks and in the Top 25 for 154 straight weeks.
Syracuse has had a tough road in the Atlantic Coast Conference, facing three ranked opponents so far in No. 20 Notre Dame, No. 13 Clemson and No. 10 Duke. Two of those games were on the road. Florida State will be the fourth ranked opponent and third top 15 team for the Orange. Looking ahead at Syracuse's schedule, the Orange will also face currently ranked No. 15 North Carolina and a Boston College club that is receiving votes in the NSCAA Coaches poll.
Syracuse is 4-2-1 at the SU Soccer Stadium this season. The Seminoles come into the game with a 4-2 record on the road.
