SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse starts its 2016-17 regular season as the Colgate Raiders head to the Carrier Dome this Friday, November 11. Opening tip-off is set for 7.p.m.

Tickets can be purchased on Cuse.com, by calling 1-888-DOMETIX or at Gate B of the Carrier Dome. Fans can also watch the game on ACC Network Extra.

FOR STARTERS

This will be Jim Boeheim's 41st season opener as head coach for the Orange. Syracuse is 36-4 in season openers under Coach Boeheim.
This is the first of four games that Syracuse will play in the Carrier Dome to open the 2016-17 season.
Syracuse won its two exhibition matches this season versus Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 83-55, and Le Moyne, 97-64. This is the sixth season in a row the Orange have swept their exhibition series.
Syracuse currently ranks no. 19 in the AP Top 25 Poll, and No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

NEWCOMERS

Freshman Tyus Battle will play in his first official colleigate game after an impressive showing in the exhibition games, scoring 16 points against IUP and 17 against LeMoyne.
Graduate transfer Andrew White III will make his regular-season debut in Orange after leading all scorers with 24 points against Le Monye Tuesday. Fellow graduate transfer John Gillon will look to make an impact coming off the bench for the Orange.
Returners Look to Lead
Graduate student DaJuan Coleman and senior Tyler Roberson look to lead the Orange to victory in the season opener. Roberson averaged 8.5 rebounds a game last season while Coleman averaged 4.5.
Sophomore Tyler Lydon returns to the Carrier Dome after playing a key role in the Orange's run to the Final Four last season, averaging 10.1 points per game.
Frank Howard, a sophomore point guard, will be another essential part of Syracuse's offense. In the exhibition match against Le Moyne, he scored 11 points.

READING THE RAIDERS

Syracuse looks to improve its all-time record against Colgate, which now stands at 123-45. The teams first met on January 15, 1902, which resulted in a 33-8 win for the Orange.
Syracuse has won the last 50 meetings against the Central New York foe, which is currently the longest active streak in Division I basketball. The last time the Raiders defeated the Orange was on Feb. 24, 1962.
Colgate ranks sixth in the Patriot League's 2016-17 preseason poll. Last season, the Raiders were 13-17 overall, and 9-9 in Patriot League play.
