SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the second consecutive weekend, the Syracuse women's hockey team (2-5-3, 2-1-1 CHA) will go on the road to face a College Hockey America foe. The Orange will face Mercyhurst (2-7-1, 1-3-0 CHA) on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Syracuse is coming off a tie and a loss at Robert Morris last weekend, currently the top team in CHA standings. The week before the Orange had back-to-back shutouts against Lindenwood to open conference play.

Jessica Sibley leads the team with seven points this season (1 goal, 6 assists). Alysha Burriss (3 goals, 3 assists) and Stephanie Grossi (2 goals, 4 assists) follow with six points each.

Syracuse's defense is ranked seventh nationally, allowing only 1.70 goal per game. Goaltender Abbey Miller ranks in the top 15 in the country in four categories – tied for ninth in shutouts (2), 12th goaltending leaders (1.52 GAA), 12th minutes played (551:26) and 16th save percentage (.935).

Mercyhurst picked up their first CHA win against Penn State on Nov. 4 with a 6-4 victory. The Lakers were swept by Robert Morris earlier in the season and they lost their second game to Penn State. Taylor Accursi (5 goals, 2 assists), Brooke Hartwick (4 goals, 3 assists) and Jillian Skinner (7 assists) lead the team with seven points this season.

Mercyhurst is Syracuse's most played opponent with the two teams having played a total of 38 times in program history. They met five times last season, including in the championship game of the CHA Tournament where the Lakers won 4-3 in overtime.
