SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse begins play in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational on Tuesday, Nov. 15 when it hosts Holy Cross. Opening tip in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m.

FOR STARTERS
- Syracuse defeated Colgate, 83-55, on Friday night to improve its record to 37-4 in season openers under the direction of head coach Jim Boeheim.
- The Orange's next four games are part of the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational. After hosting three games as part of the event, Syracuse will take on South Carolina at the Barclays Center on Saturday, Nov. 26.
SEASON OPENER REWIND
- Senior Tyler Roberson scored 18 points to lead the Orange in their season-opening victory against Colgate. He was 9-for-13 from the field.
- Andrew White III made his Syracuse debut against the Raiders. He tallied 17 points to go along with five rebounds.
- Point guards Frank Howard and John Gillon combined for 24 points and 15 assists in the victory. Howard had nine assists, which is a new career high.
- Holy Cross started the season with an 81-49 loss at South Carolina on Sunday. Robert Champion led the Crusaders with 18 points, while Malachi Alexander added 15 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
- Last season, Holy Cross won the Patriot League Tournament and defeated Southern in the NCAA Tournament First Four for its first NCAA Tournament win since 1953.
- Alexander earned the Patriot League Tournament MVP award in 2016. He averaged 11.8 points and team-highs 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Champion led the team in scoring a year ago when he averaged 12.0 points per game.
- Bill Carmody is in his second season at the helm of the Holy Cross program. Previously, Carmody served as head coach at Princeton (1996-2000) and Northwestern (2000-13).
ON THE ORANGE HORIZON
Syracuse is back in action in the Carrier Dome on Friday, Nov. 18 when it hosts Monmouth at 7 p.m.
