Orange Host Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech for Home Finale

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Syracuse volleyball team (7-19, 6-10 ACC) prepare to face off against Pittsburgh on Friday at 7 p.m. and Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Women's Building. The two games mark the last of home games of the 2016 season, and offer free admission to the public.
Following the home finale weekend, the Orange will have a pair of road games at Louisville and Notre Dame to end the regular season.
Earlier this year, the Orange were defeated by Notre Dame (25-16, 26-24, 25-10), but claimed a five-set victory against Louisville (22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 15-10) at home.
The Orange and the Panthers met twice last year, as Syracuse beat Pitt in the second meeting on road (25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 28-26). The game this Friday marks the 46th meeting between the clubs since 1982, as Syracuse and Pitt are tied for the second-longest series history in the SU record books with 45 games.
Last year, Syracuse split a pair games with Virginia Tech. The Orange won the first meeting in five-sets (25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 25-18, 15-7), and then fell in the final match against the Hokies on the road. Sunday's game will be the ninth meeting between the teams since the Pittsburgh Invitation in 1993. Syracuse trails in the all-time series against Virginia Tech, 2-6-0.
