Orange at the ACC Tournament
- Heading into the program's fourth ACC Championship, the Orange are looking to repeat past success at the event in search of their rst ACC title.
-Â 'Cuse last won a conference championship in 2011 with the Orange defeated UConn 3-2 at J.S. Coyne Stadium to win their second-straight BIG EAST title.
-Â Since joining the ACC, Coach Bradley and Co. have won at least one game in each tournament, including advancing to the title game in each of the last two seasons.
- This is Syracuse's second time entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed after earning that seed in the 2013 ACC Championship where the team fell to No. 3 seed North Carolina 1-0 in the semifinal.
Immediate ACC Success
- Since joining the conference in 2013, Syracuse has earned one of the top-two seeds in the ACC Tournament three of the four seasons in the league.
- 'Cuse won the ACC regular season title with a perfect 6-0 record in league play in 2015 and became the rst team since North Carolina in 1994 to sweep all-four major postseason awards.
- In 2013 and 2016, Syracuse earned the No. 2 seed and earned the No. 6 seed in 2014, but made a run to the ACC title game that season.
-Â 'Cuse is 16-8 in ACC play all-time under coach Bradley. The .667 winning percentage over the last four years which is the best in the league since SU joined.Â
ACC Tournament History
- Since joining the ACC for the 2013 season, the Orange are 4-3 in conference tournament play.
- In 2013, Syracuse, the No. 2 seed, took down Boston College, the No. 7 seed, 3-1 in the quarter nals before falling to North Carolina, the No. 3 seed, 1-0 in the semifinals.
- The following season, Syracuse landed the No. 6 seed in the tournament. The Orange went on to defeat third-seeded Boston College (5-2), and second-seeded North Carolina (3-2, OT), before falling 2-0 to 4th-seeded Wake Forest in the championship game.
- In 2015, Syracuse earned the top-seed and a rst-round bye in the conference tournament. Squaring o with 4th-seeded Virginia in the second round, the Orange advanced with a 3-2 overtime victory. Undefeated to that point, Syracuse dropped the title game to 3rd-seeded North Carolina in overtime, 2-1.Â
'Cuse vs. Wake Forest
- The Orange will face the Demon Deacons for the second time this season, and eighth time in the series history in Thursday's ACC Quart nals matchup.
- Syracuse has won two straight against Wake Forest and controls the all-time series, 4-3.
- The Orange's four wins against Wake Forest have come by an average of 3.75 goals per game, while its losses have been by a mere 1.67 goals per game.
- In this year's regular season meeting between the two sides, Syracuse jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead behind
two goals from Emma Lamison, one from Jennifer Bleakney, and one from Lies Lagerweij. The Orange never trailed in the game, which ended as a 4-2 victory.
- In Winston-Salem, Syracuse has a 1-1 record all-time.
- The Orange have met Wake Forest on a neutral site three times and twice in postseason play. this is a rematch of the 2014 ACC title game which the Demon Deacons won 2-0.Â
ACC Stands Alone
-Â All-seven ACC teams, including the Orange, are named on the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll. The conference has three of the top ve teams in the country, as well as ve of the top eight.
- This week's poll is the 45th-straight that features every team in the conference.
- Syracuse has won 11 of its last 13 regular season games against ACC opponents, all of which have been matchups between ranked teams, and nine of which have been matchups between top-10 teams.Â
Statistical Leaders
- The Orange ranks in the ACC's top three for nearly all of the major statistical categories, including second in scoring margin (2.37) and rst in save percentage (.795) and goals against average (1.09)
- Syracuse also ranks inside the nation's top 10 in most statistical categories, including fth in goals against average (1.16) and seventh in goals scored per game (3.60).Â
A Number of Weapons
- The Orange attack features 12 players who have scored at least one goal and 11 players who have recorded at least one assist.
- Syracuse leads the conference with ve players inside the top-10 for assists. The Orange also have two players inside the top-10 for goals and for points, tied for the top spot.Â
Lagerweij the Leader
- Junior back Lies Lagerweij leads the Orange with 12 goals through the rst 16 games of the season.
- The number is good for the fourth highest mark in the ACC, just four behind the conference leader, Wake Forest's Nicola Pluta's (16).
- Lagerweij's 0.80 goals per game rank 31st nationally.Â
