SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Two familiar faces will return to the Syracuse women's lacrosse sideline when the Orange take to the field in 2017. Allie Murray will serve as a volunteer assistant this season, while Halle Majorana returns as an undergraduate student assistant.
Â
"We're excited to have Allie and Halle join our staff this season," said Syracuse head coach Gary Gait. "Allie is a tireless worker who will help train our goalkeepers. Halle has been one of our leaders on offense the past two seasons. Her insight will be valuable to this year's attack."
Â
Murray started 24 games in goal for Syracuse last season. She recorded 127 saves and a 9.35 goals-against average. She made eight saves against USC in the NCAA quarterfinals, including one with nine seconds remaining in regulation to keep the game tied as the Orange went on to a 12-11 win to advance to the national semifinals. In addition, Murray was a member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Â
Majorana earned All-America honors the past two seasons. She recorded 70 points on 40 goals and 30 assists last season. Majorana tallied seven points in a game twice and recorded four or more points in a game nine times in 2016. She was also a two-time selection to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
