Orange in a Landslide

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Andrew White led the Orange with 24 points as Syracuse defeated cross-town foe Le Moyne, 97-64, on Tuesday night in the Carrier Dome, in its final exhibition game of the season.
White added two steals and a rebound to his resume on the night, while Tyus Battle had 17 points, two steals, two rebounds and two assists off the bench.
Two other Orange tallied double-digits on the night, as John Gillon had 14 points and Frank Howard had 11.
Tyler Lydon led the Orange in rebounding with 10 -- five offensive and five defensive.
A White three-point basket started the action in the Carrier Dome, as the Orange converted an 11-3 run to establish a hefty lead in the first half.
The momentum was cut by a Le Moyne three-point basket, until Tyus Battle checked in and put up a 3-pointer of his own to extend the Orange lead to eight once again.
White gave the Orange a 16-point lead, the largest of the first half, after a three-point basket with just over five minutes remaining. White converted 5-of-6 3-pointers in the first half to lead the Orange with 19 points before the break.
The Dolphins completed five baskets from beyond the arc before the half was over, and cut the Orange lead to just nine, 45-36, heading into the locker room.
Syracuse started the second half with a 10-2 run to push the lead to 17 points.
The Dolphins stopped the Orange streak with a three-point basket, but Syracuse pushed back, keeping Le Moyne no closer than 13 points away in the remainder of the game.
Three consecutive baskets from Gillon gave way to a 25-point lead, 76-51, with just under eight minutes to go in the second half.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Howard and Tyler Lydon brought the Orange ahead, 92-61, at the 2:55 mark.
Ky Feldman added an 11th 3-pointer for the Orange inside the one-minute mark, as Syracuse closed out the game on top of the Dolphins.
The Orange return to the Carrier Dome on Friday, Nov. 11 to open the regular season against Colgate. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
