Orange Ranked No. 7 in Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is ranked No. 7 in Inside Lacrosse's Face-Off Yearbook preseason women's lacrosse rankings. The Orange is one of four teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) ranked in the top 10 by the publication.

Syracuse posted a 19-6 record last season and advanced to the national semifinals for the fifth consecutive year.

Defending national champion North Carolina garnered the top spot in the preseason poll, while last year's runner-up, Maryland, is No. 2. Florida is No. 3, followed by Stony Brook, Penn State and USC. The No. 8 and 9 spots go to ACC foes Notre Dame and Duke, and Northwestern rounds out the top 10. The Orange will face 12 of the teams ranked in the preseason top 20.

Syracuse opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 11 at noon against Boston College, which is ranked No. 17 in the preseason rankings, in the Carrier Dome.
