CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Syracuse will ring in 2017 with a New Year's Day matinee at Boston College at 12:30 p.m. at Conte Forum. The game is the ACC opener for both squads.

FOR STARTERS
- Syracuse finished the non-conference portion of its schedule with an 8-5 record. All eight of the victories came in the Carrier Dome.
- The Orange are 2-1 all-time in its first ACC contest of the season. Last season, Syracuse lost at Pitt in its league opener after posting victories in its ACC opener in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
- Sophomore Tyler Lydon posted the seventh double-double of his career in Syracuse's win against Cornell. He led the Orange with 20 points and grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- Boston Colleges enters conference play with a 7-6 record after a 79-67 win against Providence. The Eagles have eight days off since defeating the Friars on Dec. 23.
- Sophomore Jerome Robinson leads Boston College and ranks third in the ACC in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game. Freshman Ky Bowman also averages double figures in scoring, adding 10.4 per game. Graduate student Mo Jeffers leads the Eagles' efforts on the boards, grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game.
- Jim Christian is in his third season at the helm of the Boston College program. He previously had head coaching stints at Ohio, TCU and Kent State.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series against the Eagles, 44-24. The Orange swept the season series last season, defeating Boston College, 62-40, before posting a 75-61 victory at Chestnut Hill.
