Orange Receive Texas-Sized Welcome

HOUSTON - It wasn't a normal travel day for the Syracuse men's basketball team on Wednesday. The Orange received a hero's send-off in Syracuse, before being greeted in Houston by real-life heroes.
The day started with the season's final practice in the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center before hundreds of members of Orange Nation came out to Manley Field House for a pep rally sending off the Orange men's and women's basketball teams to the Final Four.
When the Orange's charter flight touched down in Houston, the team was greeted by military personnel and veterans, as well as military vehicles lining the way to the customized team coach bus in an impressive welcome for the Midwest Regional champions.
A police escort then led the Orange to their team hotel. After a team dinner, the Orange settled in for some rest before what will be a busy Thursday with various media obligations, broadcast promotional shoots, and practice.
