
Three Named to ACC Men's All-Academic Team

A trio of the ACC Champion Syracuse men's indoor track and field team continued to collect conference honors on Wednesday, when Colin Bennie, Paul Lovell and Adam Palamar were named to the ACC All-Academic Team.
Bennie and Palamar each earned USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors on the track this indoor season in addition to their success in the classroom.
Bennie took eighth in the 5k at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, with a time of 13:53.64, to earn All-America honors. He also racked up points in two events at the ACC Championship to help secure the team's first ACC indoor title, taking home third in the 5k and fourth in the 3000-meters at the meet. He's majoring in political science.
Lovell helped the Orange to a second place finish in the distance medley relay at the ACC Championships in a school record time of 9:36.74. He followed that up with a 19th-place finish in the 800-meters (1:54.83). The Stow, Ohio native later ran a personal best 1:53.03 at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Lovell is majoring in biotechnology.
Palamar finished eighth in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in 4:07.89. He previously became the third Syracuse runner to break the four-minute barrier in the mile at 3:58.55 at the John Thomas Invitational, doing it again at the Boston Valentine Invitational later in the season. At the ACC Championships, Palamar took third in the mile (4:11.91). He is majoring in biology.
The women's ACC All-Academic Team will be released later today.
