Orange open 2016 season against the Badgers
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 18 Syracuse University men's rowing team will open its 2016 campaign against No. 12 Wisconsin in an Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) clash on Saturday morning at the Dammrich Rowing Center in Skokie, Ill. Racing will begin at 10 a.m. EST.
Audio from Saturday's race will be available, courtesy of the Syracuse Alumni Rowing Association. Fans can call in and listen at 712-432-4418. An online option is available here, http://portal.stretchinternet.com/syracuse/.
Racing will kick off at 10 a.m. EST with the first varsity eight competition. The Orange and Badgers will later compete in the second and third varsity eight races, which will follow later at 10:20 and 10:40 a.m. EST, respectively.
For the second straight year, Syracuse will open the year with a race against conference-foe Wisconsin. Last season, the Orange's first varsity eight crew was defeated by the Badgers, but the second varsity eight boat rallied for a three-second victory in Ithaca, N.Y.
