SUNDAY'S GAME
- The eighth seeded Orange host Albany in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
- The game will be televised on ESPNU with Mark Dixon and Mark Corey on the call. It's also available on ESPN3. TK99 will broadcast the game as the official radio home of the Orange, with Brian Higgins (pxp) and Kyle Fetterly (color) calling the action. WAER will also be carrying the game, with Marco Socci and Conor Green in the booth and Michael Tricarico on sideline.
- Syracuse enters the game 11-4 after trouncing Colgate 18-3 in the regular season finale.
THE ALBANY SERIES
- The Orange and Great Danes meet for the 14th time on Sunday and second in postseason play.
- Every single matchup has come in the Carrier Dome and under head coach John Desko as they've met each season in the Dome since 2004.
- The lone prior NCAA Tournament meeting came in the first round of the 2004 season, when 'Cuse went on to win its ninth NCAA Championship.
LORDS OF THE RING
- Syracuse begins its quest for a 12th NCAA Championship (and 16th national title, including four USILA championships) on Sunday against Albany.
- The Orange owns the some of the best marks in NCAA Tournament play by a number of metrics, including most NCAA Championships (11), highest winning percentage (.733), second most wins (66) and fourth most appearances (35).
DESKO HONORED
-Head coach John Desko was named ACC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row following the Orange's second-straight ACC Title. It's his third conference coach of the year honor as he previously was BIG EAST Coach of the Year in 2011.
-Desko is the winningest active coach in Division 1 college lacrosse, with a .759 winning percentage in 18 years as head coach of the Orange.
DESKO IS THE MASTER OF MAY
- Head coach John Desko took over the program in 1999 and has guided the Orange to 17 NCAA Tournaments in his 18 seasons, including five NCAA Championships (2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009).
- Desko's clubs combine for an overall record of 32-11 in NCAA Tournament play, good for a .744 winning percentage, which is the best all-time of any coach who has coached 10 or more games.
- Desko is third all-time with five NCAA Championships, one behind predeccessor Roy Simmons Jr. and fourth all-time with 32 NCAA Tournament wins, two behind Simmons Jr.
NO. 8 SEED SUITS CUSE
- The Orange have been the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament once previously, making rattling off three-straight wins to get to the NCAA title game in 1999 before losing to Virginia in the title game.
- The only seeds Syracuse has a better winning percentage at are No. 1 (.808/21-5), No. 3 (.813/13-3) and No. 4 (.833/5-1).
BACK-TO-BACK
- Syracuse won its second-straight ACC Championship on Sunday, defeating Duke 14-8 after a three-hour weather delay halted play with 7:10 to go.
- Head coach John Desko and the Orange are 9-1 all-time in conference tournament play and 5-1 in ACC tournament play, including 4-0 over the last two seasons.
- Evan Molloy was named the ACC-Tournament MVP, recording 27 saves and allowing just 15 goals.
- Tim Barber, Nick Mariano, Brandon Mullins and Sergio Salcido also earned All-Tournament team honors.

- Evan Molloy hasn't reached the 60-percent mark of his team's minutes yet, thus not allowing him to qualify for NCAA rankings, however if he were he'd be near the top.
- His .577 save percentage would rank sixth nationally, while his 6.80 goals against average would be third.
