
Ennis Suits Up For Canada

Former Syracuse guard Tyler Ennis will lead Team Canada at a six-team Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the Philippines which begins on Tuesday, July 5.
Ennis played in 46 games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2015-16 and averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 assists per game.
In his one season with Syracuse, Ennis started all 34 games and helped the Orange to a 28-6 overall record. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 assists. Ennis was taken in the first round and 18th overall of the 2014 NBA Draft by Phoenix. He was traded that year to Milwaukee.
Ennis is one of 12 players who earned a spot on the roster. Â He joins other NBA performers Joel Anthony (Detroit), Anthony Bennett (Toronto), Cory Joseph (Toronto) and Tristin Thompson (Cleveland) on the team.
Canada opens the qualifying tournament against Turkey on  July 5 at 6:30 a.m. in Manila. The Canadians take on Senegal on July 6. France, New Zealand and host Philippines are also competing in Manila. The winner earns an automatic bid to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Former NBA standout Steve Nash serves as general manager of Team Canada while Jay Triano, the former head coach of the Toronto Raptors and currently an assistant with the Phoenix Suns, is the squad's coach.
Team USA has already qualified for the 2016 Olympics.
