RALEIGH, N.C. – No. 6/4 Syracuse puts its four-match winning streak on the line when it opens ACC play against rv/-- NC State on Friday, Sept. 8. Game time in Raleigh, N.C. is set for 7 p.m. The Orange enter the match with a 4-0 record, while the Wolfpack are 1-2-0.

ORANGE MOVE UP IN POLLS
Syracuse jumped four spots in this week's Soccer America poll to No. 4, while remaining at No. 6 in the NSCAA poll.

ORANGE IN ACC OPENERS
Syracuse begins its fourth season in the ACC on Friday. The Orange is 0-2-1 in their first league match of the year. Last season, the Orange hosted No. 23 Louisville in the league opener. Oyvind Alseth scored in the ninth minute to give Syracuse the lead, but the Cardinals netted the equalizer in the 44th minute as the teams tied, 1-1.

SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
NC State enters Friday's match with a 1-2 record. After splitting two matches at the JMU Invitational to start the season, the Wolfpack lost to North Florida, 3-2.

Ade Taiwo has scored three of NC State's five goals this season. He leads the squad with six points. Lukas Zarges and Julius Duchscherer each have three points on a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Alex McCauley has played every minute for the Wolfpack. He has recorded a 2.00 goals-against average and a .538 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Friday's match will be the sixth all-time meeting between Syracuse and NC State. The Orange hold a 3-1-1 lead in the series and have won the last two matches against the Wolfpack.

Syracuse and NC State met twice last season in a span of 13 days. The first match between the squads took place on Oct. 23 at the SU Soccer Stadium. Syracuse came from behind to post a 2-1 victory. The second match was in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The Orange shut out the Wolfpack, 2-0, and went on to claim its first ACC Championship.

Syracuse returns home for two straight matches, beginning with Hofstra on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free of charge.
