'Cuse Tabbed Eighth in US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20

The Syracuse men's lacrosse team was picked eighth in the NIKE/US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20, marking the third major poll/publication to pit the Orange inside the top-eight to start 2017.
'Cuse was tabbed fifth in the NIKE/USILA Coaches Poll and seventh in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Top-20 prior to the latest poll.
US Lacrosse picked Denver as its preseason favorite, with a host of Orange opponents and ACC foes also well represented inside the top-20.
Behind the Pioneers, Maryland, North Carolina, Loyola and Notre Dame round out the top-five, with Johns Hopkins and Yale also situated ahead of SU in sixth and seventh respectively.
In addition to North Carolina, Notre Dame and Johns Hopkins, which all appear on Syracuse's 2017 slate, Duke (No. 10), Virginia (No. 11) and Albany (No. 12) will make trips to the Carrier Dome this year.
The Orange open the 2017 slate on Feb. 11 when Siena visits the Carrier Dome. Four members of the Orange were selected as Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America selections, highlighted by Sergio Salcido's first team selection. Nick Mariano and Ben Williams were each added to the second team, and Nick Mellen was tabbed as a third team honoree.
