Three Former Orange Named to U.S. World Cup Roster

SPARKS, Md. – Syracuse All-Americans Becca Block '13, Kayla Treanor '16 and Michelle Tumolo '13 are among the 18 players named to the U.S. Women's Lacrosse National Team that will compete in the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup. The event will be played in Guildford, England July 12-22.

The team was selected from a 25-player U.S. World Cup Training Team. The squad competed at the Team USA Spring Premiere last weekend in Bradenton, Fla. The U.S. defeated Florida and Notre Dame at the event.

Block, Treanor and Tumolo will compete in their first FIL Women's World Cup. Treanor recorded six points on four goals and two assists at the Spring Premiere, while Tumolo recorded an assist in both games, including the assist on the game-winning goal against Florida. Block played in both games of the Spring Premiere on defense.

Two alternates for the World Cup and the 15-player roster that will continue on to the World Games in Wroclaw, Poland, also in July, will be named next week. The United States is the defending FIL World Cup champions.
