NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Syracuse faces an opponent ranked in the top 20 for the second straight game when it travels to Notre Dame, Ind. to face the No. 15/15 Fighting Irish on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

FOR STARTERS
- Sophomore Tyler Lydon led Syracuse's offensive effort at North Carolina on Monday. He was 11-of-14 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range on his way to 26 points, which was just three shy of his career high of 29 points against Georgetown in December. He ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game.
- Graduate student Andrew White III was 5-of-9 from 3-point range against the Tar Heels. He has made more 3-pointers this season than any other player in the ACC with 59. In addition, White III ranks seventh in the ACC, connecting on 40.4 percent (59-of-146) of his attempts from behind the arc. In addition, White III ranks 12th in the ACC in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game.
- Tyus Battle extended his streak of consecutive games reaching double figures in scoring to four with 13 points at North Carolina. He now ranks third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.9 points per game.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
- Notre Dame had its seven-game winning streak snapped in an 83-30 loss at Florida State on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish enter Saturday's game with a 16-3 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.
- The Irish rank first among the Division I leaders in free-throw percentage (.824), and among the nation's best in assist:turnover ratio (1.76) and turnover average (9.9).Notre Dame features four players averaging in double digits -- junior forward Bonzie Colson (15.5 ppg.), senior guard Steve Vasturia (15.2), junior guard Matt Farrell (14.2) and senior forward VJ Beachem (13.9). Colson is also the club's top rebounder, averaging 10.7 boards per outing. That foursome, along with junior forward Martinas Geben (4.2 ppg., 4.7 rpg.) have started all 19 games for Notre Dame.
- Notre Dame coach Mike Brey enters the Syracuse game just 21 wins away from the school's all-time record of 393. He is in his 17th season at Notre Dame.
SERIES HISTORY
Syracuse leads the all-time series, 28-19, and owns four consecutive victories against the Irish. The Orange defeated Notre Dame in the Carrier Dome last year, 81-66, and the season before in South Bend, 65-50.
