DISECTING THE DEMON DEACONS
- Wake Forest defeated in-state foe North Carolina State on Saturday, 93-88, snapping a 25-game ACC road losing streak that started during the 2013-14 season. The Demon Deacons enter Tuesday night's game with a 12-7 record (3-4 ACC), already surpassing the number of wins they totaled last season.
- Sophomore forward John Collins, who is this week's ACC Player of the Week, ranks ninth in scoring average in the conference with 16.6 points per game. He also ranks fifth in rebounding averaging (8.8 rpg.) and second in field goal percentage (.599).
- Wake Forest has three additional players averaging double digits per game in scoring — sophomore guard Bryant Crawford (14.7 ppg.), sophomore guard Keyshawn Woods (13.3), and junior forward Konstantinos Mitoglou (10.4). Those three and Collins, along with graduate forward Austin Arians (8.3 ppg.), have started every game for the Demon Deacons this season.
- Wake Forest coach Danny Manning is in his third season at the helm of the program. He has guided the Demon Deacons to a record of 36-46 over that stretch. Manning was the NCAA National Player of the year in 1988; the same year he was the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft.
SERIES HISTORY
