1/27/2017 10:22:00 AM | Track and Field
The Syracuse track and field teams return to action on Saturday at a trio of meets.
Syracuse at the Villanova Open
- The sprinters and jumpers will take on a new meet this season at the Villanova open.
- 2016 NCAA runner-up Freddie Crittenden III's debut in the 60-meter hurdles headlines the meet. He'll be joined by teammated Richard Floyd, David Gilstrap and Chevis Armstead looking to continue their 60-meter hurdle dominance so far this year.
- Kadejhia Sellers will take on the 400-meters for the first time this season as well at the event. Cheyenne Trigg will also suit up for SU at that distance. Pascal Bastein will be the lone 'Cuse competitor at that distance for the men.
- Winston Lee will return to the track after not competing last week in the 60-meter dash.
- Tia Thevenin enters the meet as the favorite in the 60-meter hurdles, with Danielle Delgado posting the second-best time among those entered in the competition. Aviana Goode (fifth) continues the trend of Orange highly seeded in the event. Goode will also high jump on Friday.
- Regine Hunter enters as the favorite to win the triple jump as well, posting the best distance to date among those competing.
- Randall Johnson will long jump as well, entering with the sixth-best distance to date in the meet.
- Justice Richardson will race in the 60-meter dash and 200-meters, where she'll be joined by teammates Ebhani Blackwood and Victoria Parker. Kashif Miller will take on the 200-meters for the men.
- The Orange will also race a 4x400-meter team of Blackwood, Trigg, Thevenin and Delgado.
Syracuse at the John Thomas Invitational

- Adam Palamar and Joel Hubbard, two of the four members of the Orange to break that four-minute mark all-time will once again compete in the event. Joining them will be Aidan Tooker, TJ Hornberger, Nick Ryan, Robby Hall and Andy Paladino
- Sydney Leiher, Rachel Bonner, McKenzie Altmayer, Madeleine Davison and Kayli Jones will be representing the Orange women at that distance this weekend.
- Leiher will also double in the 800-meters, with Paul Lovell and Sam Somera set to represent the Orange men in the event.
- Davision is also entered into the 3000-meters, as is Kelsey Potts and Maggie Toczko.
- Colin Bennie will headline the 3000-meters for the men, with Iliass Aouani and Adam Visokay also racing for 'Cuse in the event.
- Paige Stoner will represent SU in the 5000-meters with teammate Chelsie Pennello. Joseph Dragon, Kevin James, Griff Molino, Dominic Hockenbury and Simon Smith will take on that distance for the men.
Knight at the UW Invitational
- Junior phenom Justyn Knight, who's in his sophomore year of eligibility in indoor track, will be the lone Syracuse competitor at the UW Invitational in Seattle, Washington this weekend.
- Knight will be competing in the mile against a host of professional competitors mixed into a talented collegiate field.
