RALEIGH, N.C. -- Syracuse looks to get its third straight win when it takes on North Carolina State on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The squads will tip off at 7 p.m. at PNC Arena in Raleigh.

FOR STARTERS

Syracuse upset No. 6/8 Florida State Saturday at the Carrier Dome, defeating the Seminoles 82-72. It marked the first time the Orange have defeated a ranked opponent this season. The win improved Syracuse's record to 13-9 overall, including a 13-2 mark in the Dome, and 5-4 in the ACC. The Orange are in a four-way tie for sixth place in the conference standings.
Graduate student Andrew White III led the Orange in scoring for the second game in a row with 24 points on Saturday. He was 8-for-16 on field goal attempts and was 4-for-10 from behind the arc. White III now leads the ACC in 3-point field goals per game with at 3.2 average.
Sophomore forward Tyler Lydon recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds against the Seminoles. He also tallied six blocked shots, which marked his career high.

WATCHING THE WOLFPACK

North Carolina State holds a 14-8 overall record and sits at 3-6 in the ACC. The Wolfpack faced a pair of ranked opponents last week. They defeated No. 21 Duke, 84-82, before losing to No. 13 Louisville, 85-60.
Freshman guard Dennis Smith, Jr. is averaging a team-leading 19.0 points per game. He also leads the team in assists (143) and steals (49). Smith Jr. has also been named to the midseason watch list for the Wayman Tisdale Award and a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award.
Mark Gottfried is in his sixth year at the helm of North Carolina State's basketball program. Before coaching the Wolfpack, he served as head coach at Murray State from 1995-98, and at Alabama from 1999-2009. Gottfried holds a 92-52 overall record at North Carolina State.

THE SERIES
The Orange leads the all-time series against the Wolfpack, 6-3. Last season, Syracuse defeated North Carolina State, 75-66, at the Carrier Dome.
