SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse goes for its second consecutive win when it hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 7 in the Carrier Dome. The game, which is sponsored by National Grid, tips off at 12 p.m.

FOR STARTERS
- Syracuse recorded its first ACC win of the season on Wednesday night with a 70-55 victory against Miami. The Orange enter Saturday's game with a 9-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in league play.
- Andrew White III and Tyler Lydon led the way offensively for Syracuse against the Hurricanes. White III scored a game-high 22 points, while Lydon finished with 20 points. Both were 7-for-13 from the field. White also grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double as a member of the Orange.
- John Gillon dished out 11 assists for his first double-digit performance of the season. He also added eight points.
PREVIEWING THE PANTHERS
- Pittsburgh upset No. 11 Virginia, 88-76 in overtime, on Wednesday for its first ACC win of the season. The win improved the Panthers' record to 12-3 overall, 1-1 in ACC action.
- Pittsburgh features the top two scorers in the ACC in seniors Michael Young and Jamel Artis. Young averages 22.7 points per game, while Artis is right behind, adding 21.4 points per contest. Artis is the most accurate 3-point shooter in the league, hitting 45.8 percent of his attempts (38-for-83).
- Senior Sheldon Jeter is the Panthers' leading rebounder, pulling down 7.7 per game. He also leads the team with 15 blocked shots.
- Kevin Stallings is in his first season at the helm of the Pittsburgh program. He spent the previous 17 season at Vanderbilt. Stallings is in his 24th season as a head coach and has posted a 467-286 record.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Pittsburgh, 65-44. However, the Panthers have won the last five meetings between the two schools. Last season, Pittsburgh won both regular-season contests and defeated the Orange, 72-71, in the ACC Tournament.
