SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's soccer team (7-5-2) is down to its final four games of the season as the Orange travel to Raleigh to take on the NC State Wolfpack at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Syracuse has posted a 3-3-0 record on the road this season, including an ACC win at conference foe Pittsburgh.
Last Time Out
Syracuse and Miami met on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in a match that was rescheduled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Despite the conditions, the Orange came away with the victory thanks to a long-range shot by sophomore Taylor Bennett for the only goal of the game. Syracuse has shown resiliency on the pitch, posting a 4-0-1 record when coming off a loss.
They Shoot, They Score
Syracuse posted 11 shots against Miami, marking the seventh time this season that the Orange have recorded double-digit shots. When tallying 10+ shots in a game, 'Cuse holds a 6-0-1 record, with the lone tie coming against No. 21 Connecticut. The Orange are 6-0-0 when outshooting their opponent and 7-0-1 when scoring first. Sophomore Sydney Brackett paces the Orange with 28 shots on the season.
Scouting the Wolfpack
The Wolfpack are 9-4-1 in 2017, and, like Syracuse, have only posted a pair of conference wins. The two teams have only met twice before in school history with Syracuse coming out on top in both outings. Sophomore Tziarra King leads NC State with seven goals and five assists (19 points), while four other Wolfpack players have three goals each.
Up Next…
The Orange return to Syracuse for the final two home games of the season when they face Virginia on Oct. 19 and Duke on Oct. 22. Admission to all home games is free.
