SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will play the second of three games in a span of five days when it hosts Oakland on Monday, Nov. 20 as part of the Hoophall Miami Invitational. Tip off in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m.

For Starters

- Syracuse defeated Texas Southern, 80-67, on Saturday to improve to 3-0 this season.
- Five different players scored in double figures in the victory. Sophomore Tyus Battle again led the way with 21 points, while graduate student Geno Thorpe added 13 points. Freshman Marek Dolezaj was one rebound away from a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds.
- The Orange and Golden Grizzlies will meet for the third time. Oakland visited the Carrier Dome in 2008 and 2009. Syracuse won both meetings.

Scouting the Golden Grizzlies

- Oakland opened the season with back-to-back wins before losing at Toledo on Saturday for its first setback of the season.
- Kendrick Nunn and Martez Walker lead the Golden Grizzlies' offense. Nunn is averaging 28.3 points per game, while Walker adds 24.3 points per contest. James Beck leads Oakland on the boards, averaging 7.3 per game.
- Greg Kampe is in his 34th season at the helm of the Oakland program. He led the Golden Grizzlies to the Horizon League regular-season title in 2016-17.
